The Government has appointed a new Land Board to oversee decision-making processes relating to a review that is being considered for the current land titles system.

The Ministry of Lands and Housing is also undertaking ongoing consultation through its Physical Planning Division with stakeholders and agencies to develop the strategic structure plan or the spatial framework to guide the future growth of Honiara.

Permanent Secretary Stanley Wale says information events like ‘Shaping Honiara’s Future’ can help the Ministry identify residents’ concerns and incorporate their ideas into Ministry town plans.

The Permanent Secretary also encouraged members of the public to review the draft Local Planning Scheme and make comments at the Honiara City Council’s website by the end of this month.
