The Guadalcanal Plains Palm Oil Company has contributed more than $600 million towards the country’s economy for the last five years.

GPPOL General Manager Roger Benzie revealed this when regional Finance and Economic Ministers recently visited the palm oil company in North Guadalcanal.

The Ministers were in the country for the 28th Forum Economic Ministers Meeting.

SIBC’s stringer in North Guadalcanal, Dudley Gani reports, in his presentation to the visiting Finance and Economic Ministers, Mr Benzie said the company contributed over $600 million to the Solomon Islands economy.

“GPPOL General Manager Roger Benzie when talking on the theme Strengthening Economic Linkages outlined GPPOL’s contribution towards the country for the past five years from 2009 to June 2014, which is over $638 million.”
