HCC WARD 2 BY-ELECTION SET FOR 2nd MARCH

The Honiara City Council (HCC) by-election for Vuhokesa, ward six will be held on 2 March this year.

This was after the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Manasseh Maelanga approved and gazetted the date under regulation six of the Honiara City Council Elections Regulations 1999.

A statement from the HCC Media Unit quoted the Council’s Deputy Clerk Fred Warereu as saying all necessary preparations are now underway.

The Deputy City Clerk also confirmed 2nd March as the date for the by-election.

The by-election was held after the Councilor for ward six, the late Jack Igi passed away last year.
