HEAVY RAIN ALERT # 11 IN FORCE FOR PARTS OF SOLOMONS

A Heavy Rain Alert is in force for Choiseul, Western including Shortlands, Isabel and Russells provinces.
Heavy Rain Alert Number Eleven is issued by the Solomon Islands Meteorological Service at 5:00 pm Saturday last week.
The alert states a trough is lying over the Solomon Islands and links to a Low re-located to the West of Shortland Islands and is slow moving.
The low is expected to slowly move South later with little development.
The alert says rain heavy at times is expected for Choiseul, Western including the Shortlands, Isabel, and Russells with thunderstorms.
The weather office advised that people should take precautionary measures as such localised Heavy Rain may lead to flash flooding or flooding to communities living close to rivers, streams and low lying areas.
