HELENA GOLDIE HOSPITAL STILL WITHOUT DOCTOR SINCE FEB 2015
Helena Goldie hospital in the Western Province is still without a doctor despite assurances from the Health Ministry.
The hospital’s medical superintendent Andrew Talokana says the hospital has been without a doctor since two doctors left the hospital in December last year.
Mr Talokana says the Health Ministry is yet to send one.
He says they have been sending patients to Gizo or Honiara for operations and drug prescriptions.
“At times, it is not safe for us nurses to order drugs as some drugs can only be prescribed by a doctor, so these are reasons a patient will have to go to Gizo to get the right drugs prescribed by a doctor.”
