The Institute of Solomon Islands Accountants (ISIA) has released its first annual report for the 2013-14 financial year.

A statement from the Institute said, the report outlined some key successes of the previous year and described the challenges faced.

The statement says ISIA’s professionalism is increasing one step at a time each year, adding that some of the key achievements in 2013-14 were centred on developing programs to support its members in obtaining international accreditation through studies with CPA Australia.

It says a licensing agreement with CPA Australia should see the cost of undertaking professional stream studies greatly reduced for its members.

ISIA will collaborate with members on tackling these challenges, particularly in terms of application of the Accountants Act 2010, the Public Sector Accountants, Regional Affiliation and the Professional Secretariat.
