Janus task force still active: Varley
Task Force Janus is still active and case investigations are ongoing, according to the commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force.
During a media conference this week, Police Commissioner Matthew Varley said a number of significant Janus cases are expected to be resolved in the coming weeks and months.
He said the task force has cases on file and several in court.
“These are complex jobs, and we’re not shying away from them,” Mr Varley said.
He said although the task force aims to understand the community’s expectations regarding Janus cases, procedures, rules of evidence and advice from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions have to be followed.
“The message is: Janus is still active,” he said. “Janus is still working very hard.”
