The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIFP) had to deploy additional officers to Tetere Police station to control a violent situation at Tetere yesterday.

A group of between 80 to 100 frustrated relatives turned up at Tetere Police Station yesterday morning and demanded police explanation for the cause of death of one of their youths.

The police media unit reports, a police accommodation situated by the road was partly damaged.

It adds officers food gardens near the station were uprooted and destroyed.

Police Media unit says an officer sustained minor injury to his forehead.

Senior RSIPF members were at the scene assisting community and national leaders from the area to resolve the matter peacefully.
