JAPAN CONGRATULATED SI FOR WINNING 2023 PACIFIC GAMES BID

The Japanese Government has conveyed its official congratulation to Solomon Islands for successfully winning the bid to host the 2023 Pacific Games.

Japanese Ambassador to Solomon Islands His Excellency Mr. Kenichi Kimiya made this official during the recent opening of the new International berth in Honiara.

“I would like to take this opportunity to extend my congratulations to the Government of Solomon Islands on it successful bid to host the Pacific Games in 2023.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Kimiya says Japan is overwhelmingly pleased to contribute to Solomon Islands infrastructure development prior to the major sporting event.

Mr. Kimiya specifically points the upcoming Kukum Highway Project will accomplish this infrastructure.

“Together with other major infrastructure projects, the upgrading of the Kukum Highway including the construction and expansion of the two Mataniko bridges, we are pleased to contribute to the infrastructure development of Solomon Islands as an important step towards the 2023 Pacific Games.”
