JUSTICE STEPHEN PALLARAS OFFICIALLY FAREWELLED BY JUDICIARY
Justice Stephen Pallaras has been officially farewelled by the judiciary family in the Solomon Islands – all of whom commended Justice Pallaras for his contribution to delivering justice in Solomon Islands.
Speaking at the farewell ceremony yesterday, the Attorney General Office told Mr Pallaras, his judgements and his robustness has been taken as a need to maintain professional rectitude and standards in prosecuting criminal matters in Court.
The Attorney General’s Office also said his concern to maintain best standards in the prosecution of criminal matters in the High Court is a legacy he will leave behind.
The Solomon Islands Bar Association also expressed similar sentiments.
Vice President of the Bar Association Katalaini Ziru says Solomon Islands has greatly benefited from the knowledge and experience of Justice Pallaras.
The Vice President also said under his term, sentences for perpetrators of sexual crimes increased from two or three years, to as high as ten years with fewer successful appeals.
