The Permanent Secretary for Rural Development has been convicted of willfully failing to furnish information and produce documents on rural constituency development funds requested by the Ombudsman and members of his staff.

The Magistrate’s Court delivered the verdict last Friday.

The Ombudsman office first gave an order for Ms Boso on May 10th, 2013 to provide them with information relating to the Rural
Constituency Development Funds.

The documents were to assist the office with an investigation.

Ms Boso failed the request.

The Ombudsman’s Office gave another order on the 4th of October requesting her to come to the office, and again she failed to turn up.

The office finally charged her on the 25th of September last year.

She stood trial last month.
