The Police Commissioner has again appealed to the Honiara public to maintain their security awareness at home as home break-ins and stealing continues to increase in the capital.

Frank Prendergast told his press conference yesterday, hotspots areas in Honiara are Tasahe, Ngossi, Panatina and Lengakiki.

He says another hotspot area is in Tetere, and around the Guadalcanal plains.

He also told his press conference yesterday police have made a number of arrests and investigations are still continuing.

“Police have been making progress in those investigations and there has been some arrest. We’re still concerned about that group however, and our operation is continuing. I urge the members of the public to report to police any suspicion they have on the usual numbers 23666 or on emergency 999 and continue to maintain appropriate security awareness and secure residences and valuables.”
