Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has appealed for cooperation and mutual partnership between the Malaita Provincial Government, resource owners, churches, non-governmental organisations and community groups in the province.

This will ensure economic development and prosperity for the province and the country.

A government statement said Mr Sogavare made the appeal in his address at the province’s 32nd Second Appointed Day Anniversary celebration in Auki to which he was the Guest of Honour.

The Prime Minister said DCCG will support and strive to ensure that development and its economic benefits reach the rural populace in the country, including Malaita province.

Meanwhile, Mr Sogavare said the accomplishment of this objective will surely require the cooperation of the provincial government, resource owners, churches and the entire community.

The Prime Minister reassured the Malaita Provincial Government of his government’s commitment to fulfilling its promise to the province as cooperation is a guiding principle of his government.
