A North Guadalcanal man has described the National Coalition for Rural Advancement, NCRA, Government to build growth centres like the national projects proposed to be build in Malaita Province is unrealistic.

SIBC north Guadalcanal stringer, Duddley Gani reports, John Saki of north Guadalcanal describes NCRA government’s idea of having growth centres in the provinces as unrealistic.

Mr Gani reports the proposed projects such as, the national projects in Malaita like the proposed Foumamanu, Kadabina and Liwe in South  Malaita is illusions that cannot be achieved.

“He said the last NCRA government’s idea about growth centres for Foumamanu, Kadabina and Liwe in South Malaita is an illusion or something which cannot happen in reality.”

Mr Gani reports Mr Saki as saying, unless the national government establishes major projects at the proposed sites then their ideas will work out.

He quoted Mr Saki saying in Solomon Islands only three places are suitable for growth centres – Noro, Henderson International Airport and North Guadalcanal.

“He said in Solomon Islands only three places are set for growth centres and they are Noro in the Western Province, around the Soltuna Noro cannery, the Henderson area in Honiara around the Honiara International Airport and North Guadalcanal around the Gold Ridge Mining project.”
