Leader of the Parliamentary Opposition, Jeremiah Manele has said the Prime Minister and his Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government have been very silent to respond to issues of national interest.

Speaking to the journalists yesterday in a media conference, Mr Manele said the government has been silent over issues raised by the Opposition Group and other stakeholders.

“Unfortunately the Prime Minister the Government have been very silent and were unable to respond to the very serious issues raised by the Opposition, but also other stakeholders and even our people raised the issues as well as want to know what the Government or Prime Minister’s response would be. Unfortunately, as I’ve said the Prime Minister has decided not to respond to these issues.”

Mr Manele adds it seems the Prime Minister is no longer in control of his Cabinet Ministers, saying a lot of Cabinet decisions are not transparent and accountable.

“A lot of decisions taken by Cabinet are not transparent enough or accountable and it seems that the Prime Minister is no longer in control over his Cabinet Ministers.”
