MP for  North Vella La Vella, Milner Tozaka says he supports the campaign to get 10 reserved seats for women in the National Parliament.

Freelancer George Atkin reports, the Parliamentarian also urges the NCRA Government to proceed with its plan to introduce legislation to reserve the 10 seats.

Mr. Tozaka says the Lilo Government must legislate the 10 reserved seats before National Parliament is dissolved on September 8.

He made known his support for the 10 seats reserved for women in Parliament while addressing a three-day Regional Consultation Conference on human rights for MPs in Auckland, New Zealand last week.

The North Vella La Vella MP says if legislated ahead of Parliament dissolution on September 8, the forthcoming national elections could see women elected into the National Parliament.

He says passing the legislation will be an excellent legacy for the NCRA Government, because of the importance of equal participation by women and men in areas of decision making and leadership.
