The only woman member in the Western Provincial Assembly Jane Tozaka has said as a country people need to start working on strategies towards the adoption of global development agenda beyond 2015.

Mrs Tozaka made the statement yesterday during the International Women’s celebrations in Honiara.

She said this will enable people to set their national and provincial priorities in order, but the same time aligning them to the principles and highest international development frameworks of the new 2015 Development Goals.

Mrs Tozaka therefore encouraged the Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs to be more proactive and strategic in crafting its new development agenda through effective consultations with Women’s Organizations and key stakeholders through which tangible and productive programmes and activities can be implemented for the benefit of Solomon Islands women and their communities.
