The country’s National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) has reaffirmed its commitment to consistently provide relief supplies to affected communities in the country.

Programs Officer Brian Tom told SIBC News, NDMO is always committed in its role to get relief assistance to victims of any natural disaster in the country and this can be seen in its recent relief efforts to Ongtong Java.

“The relief supplies we sent to Ontong Java, in fact, is a government commitment through the National Disaster Management Office. We have also sent supplies in the previous year and then we also send supplies to them last year. That was to cater for food shortages experienced by the people, which was the reason we sent the supplies.”

SIBC News understands NDMO has advised affected communities in the country to always report any impacts of natural disasters to the office.
