The new Police Act has been officially launched this morning.

The 2013 Police Act was endorsed and enforced on the first of this month.

Acting Police Commissioner Juanita Matanga said the Act will enable police officers to work on areas mandated from the Act to deliver best services in the country.

“I want to say I am happy that the Act has come into force, and the police will continue to work on areas mandated under this Act to ensure that we deliver services to our peoples’ expectations.”

The new Police Act was launched by the Minister of Police and Correctional Services, Chris Laore and was attended by several Permanent Secretaries and RAMSI officials.
