The new CEO for the Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau has arrived.

In a Government statement, Minister for Culture and Tourism Samuel Manetoali said the appointment of Josefa Tuamoto will bring a wealth of experience in marketing Solomon Islands as a tourism destination in the world.

Minister Manetoali says he has no doubt that Mr Tuamoto will contribute positively to the country’s tourism sector.

He also said having Mr Tuamoto is a step in the right direction in the Government’s desire to market the tourism industry, with the aim to make tourism a top foreign income earner in 10 years time.

The Culture and Tourism Minister was speaking at a Government-hosted dinner on Saturday to officially welcome the new Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau CEO.
