Provincial Disaster Officer for Central Islands Province, Mr. Herrisk Savusi explained, that the OBM owners must do a written submission to the PDOC for approval. However, the following requirements must be met during the application. All travelling passengers including the driver must be tested negative and present a vaccination card indicating 2 jabs.

Once the required criteria are met, Provincial Health Emergency Operation Center (PHEOC) will send a submission to the National Health Emergency Operation Center (NHEOC) which corresponds to the National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) and to the Commissioner of Police. Police commissioner is the only person to render exemption according to the State of Emergency Protocols, Mr Savusi Added.

In Support to PDOC effort in assisting our people of Central Islands Province, the National Emergency Operation Center is calling on all boat owners and interested travelling passengers to comply with the requirements to make the process easier. Remember, do not overload your boat when travelling.
