OMBUDSMAN TO CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY IN GIZO

The Ombudsman’s Office will celebrate its Anniversary in the Western Province.
Meeting members of the media, Ombudsman, Joe Poraiwai says an advance team from his Office were in Gizo last month to discuss the proposal to host the event in Gizo with the Western Province Premier, and his Provincial Secretary.
The Ombudsman also said his Office is responsible to ensure that citizens are protected from unfair Government actions and taking the Ombudsman Office to the Province is important so citizens can see and know what its roles are.
The Office of the Ombudsman celebrates its 33rd Anniversary on July 1, next month.
The 2014 theme for this year’s Anniversary is “Promoting good governance – fair, accountable and transparent administration”.
