PAC budget hearings begin today

The Public Accounts Committee will today commence hearings on the 2018 Appropriation Bill 2018 with line ministries and their subsidiaries.

According to the revised hearing schedule, the Central Bank of Solomon Islands, Asian Development Bank and World Bank are due to appear before the Public Accounts Committee today.

The Ministry of Finance and Treasury and its supervised state-owned enterprises Solomon Airlines and Investment Corporation of Solomon Islands are due to come before the committee on the second day of the hearing tomorrow.

The Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening and the local provincial assemblies are also scheduled for tomorrow’s hearing.

Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee Douglas Ete has highlighted the significance of the 2018 budget, which is the last budget before the House dissolves.
