Bishop Paterson Parish of the Anglican Church of Melanesia in North Malaita has celebrated Rogation Sunday over the weekend at St Barnabas Lobo Local Church, Mbita’ama.

Stringer John Andrew Kiri reports, the service program has attracted hundreds of church believers in the Parish.

He said during thanksgiving prayers, Reverend Father Richard Rofea Suiga acknowledged and commits Solomon Islands leadership and its people as well as donor partners to God.

Mr Kiri adds, Father Suiga also thanked the Almighty for blessing the country.

“Reverend Father Richard Rofea Suiga committed and dedicated through prayers firstly for the country’s leaders, donor partners, families in the country’s nine provinces, the sick patients, doctors and nurses as well as the country’s aid workers, education, the police, sailors, fishermen, those who are at sea onboard our vessels and the living things created by God.”

SIBC News understands Rogation Sunday is normally celebrated globally by the Anglican Communion as a Thanksgiving day.
