PARLIAMENT ADJOURNED AFTER SHORT MEETING

The fourth meeting of the 10th Parliament convened briefly this morning and then adjourn till next Monday.

During the 10 minutes meeting, Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare introduced six bills for the current sitting.

These include the Anti-Corruption Bill 2016, the Whistle blowers Bills 2016, the Penal Code (Amendment) (Sexual Offences) Bill 2016, the Police and Transport Legislation (Amendment) (Alcohol Testing) Bill 2016, the Valuers (Amendment) Bill 2016 and the Lands and Titles (Amendment) Bill 2016.

Prime Minister Sogavare then moved a special adjournment motion supported by the Honourable leader of opposition.

The Special adjournment is to allow the Bills and Legislation Committee complete hearings into a number of these bills before the parliament deliberates on them.

Parliament stands adjourned till Monday 25th April.
