Buala Hospital in Isabel Province says the Hospital has received an unusual increase of people complaining of abdominal discomfort or belly aches, after eating an expired noodle product.

Nurse in Charge at the Hospital, Martin Gavira said children and youths are most affected by this abdominal discomfort with vomiting, throat ache and diarrhoea.

He said health workers suspect the belly aches is caused by eating expired noodles product called “kokorako noodle”.

“At the outpatient we have received cases of abdominal discomfort, vomiting and such, so we found that a certain noodle product called “kokorako” identified with a red packet which got expired on 27th June, 2014.”

The Nurse in Charge adds, all the cases are being treated as normal diarrhea and vomiting at the moment.
