PM LILO MET EU’S RESIDENT AMBASSADOR TO SOLOMONS

Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo has met with the European Union’s Resident Ambassador to Solomon Islands Leonidas Tezapsidis in Honiara yesterday.

A government statement says, during the meeting, Mr Lilo thanked and congratulated Ambassador Tezapsidis for accepting and taking up the post as EU Ambassador in the country.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the roles played by EU, an important multilateral donor, benefiting Solomon Islands.

Mr Lilo adds, the political dialogue consultative progress is always a useful platform for both Solomon Islands and EU.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Leonidas Tezapsidis says, he was happy to take up the post and affirms EU’s commitment to Solomon Islands.

The Resident Ambassador says EU would always remain a neutral player in the region and will continue to support Solomon Islands in building its institutional capacity where relevant.
