Police investigations surrounding a range of security issues on Mono island continues.

Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast says investigators and community liaison officers have been deployed to carry out investigations on Mono.

He adds these officers are doing well with their investigation.

Speaking in his weekly media conference, Mr Prendergast says, his officers are grateful with the level of support coming from the communities.

“The patrol boat deployed last week with investigators and community liaison police to investigate a range of issues in the Shortlands. Those investigations are going well. We are really grateful for the support we have had from community leaders in those investigations.”

He adds it is his intention to post a significant number of police officers on Mono Island until the security issues are sorted out.

“It’s our intention to leave significant numbers of police on Mono island for the next few weeks until things have been sorted out.”
