The Ports Authority Reform Program has the support of the Solomon Islands Government says Ports CEO, Collin Yow.

Mr Yow told a press conference this week, the Ports Authority is encouraged to improve the standards of Ports and to increase revenue streams.

He said the Ports Authority is complying with the State Owned Enterprise Act where financial health and sustainability is expected.

He also explained the Ports Authority has engaged the 10 consultants from Singapore with the organisation’s funds.

Meanwhile, the General Secretary of the Workers Union of Solomon Islands, Tony Kagovai has said in a statement the Union is not against the reform.

Mr Kagovai explains the Union wants the Government to set up an independent and credible investigation to probe into connections between the Ports CEO, the Chair of the Ports Authority Board Nollen Leni and the 10 consultants from Singapore.
