PRIME MINISTER VISITS “YOUTH AT WORK”

Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare today led a delegation of government ministers and officials to visit the Youth at Work program in Honiara.

The visit was a courtesy call to brief the Prime Minister on the work of the Youth at Work program.

During the visit, Youth at Work Programme Manager, Sandra Bartlett briefed the Prime Minister on the Program’s activities since it started.

Ms Bartlett also told the Prime Minister the Youth at Work program has expanded to the Provinces, and is working with ten communities in Choiseul Province.

Ms Bartlett said the program will also roll out to Malaita Province sometimes in June or July this year.

Meanwhile, the Youth at Work Communications Officer Joseph Manemaka has expressed the youths gratitude to the Prime Minister for visiting them today, saying this is the first ever visit made by a Prime Minister since the program started.

SIBC News understands the Youth at Work program has assisted over a thousand young people since it started in 2012.
