Prince Charles welcomed in Honiara

Speaker of the National Parliament, Patteson Oti has officially welcomed His Royal Highness, Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales and heir to the British throne ahead of his visit to Parliament House tomorrow.

In a statement today, the Speaker said on behalf of the National Parliament Office of Solomon Islands and Members of Parliament, he would like to officially welcome His Royal Highness, Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales and heir to the British throne to Solomon Islands shores.

Mr. Oti says, his humble office looks forward to His Royal Highness’ visit to Parliament House.

Meanwhile, Government Communications Unit confirmed His Royal Highness will arrive at Parliament House at 10.10 am where there will be a traditional welcome ceremony.

The Prince will then meet Speaker of the National Parliament of the Solomon Islands, John Patteson Oti for a private meeting.

At 10.25 – 11:00 am, the Prince of Wales will address Parliament and meet the Members of Parliament.

His Royal Highness will greet the Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition and Members of Parliament.

The Prince of Wales will then attend a State Reception and Lunch at the Mendana Hotel from 11.45 am-1 pm.
