The Police Commissioner has warned the public against using false number plates on vehicles.

Commissioner Frank Prendergast says RSIPF officers recently detected some vehicles with false number plates on the Honiara roads.

Mr. Prendergast warns, this is a serious offence.

“It’s a serious offense under section 81 of the Road Transport Act so we are warning motorists that we are looking out for this now and if people know anything about this type of activity and they can pass on the information to the police communication centre on 23666.”
