Queen Elizabeth the Second has said she is deeply touched this year by the selflessness of Aid workers and medical volunteers who have gone abroad to help victims of conflict or victims of diseases like Ebola.

The Queen made the statement in her Christmas message to Commonwealth countries aired on the national broadcaster on Christmas day.

“And I have been deeply touched this year by the selflessness of aid workers and medical volunteers who have gone abroad to help victims of conflict or of diseases like Ebola often at great personal risk.”

She also says to her, the life of Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace whose birth is celebrated yesterday is an inspiration- an anchor in her life, saying the role model of reconciliation.

“For me the life of Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace whose birth we celebrate today is an inspiration and an anchor in my life, a role model of reconciliation and forgiveness. He stretched out His hands in love, acceptance and healing. Christ’s example has though me to seek to respect and value all people of whatever faith or none.”
