R.S.I.P.F BEEFED UP OPERATIONS AHEAD OF PRIME MINISTER’S ELECTION
The Solomon Islands police are stepping up operations in Honiara ahead of the Prime Ministers election, due to be held in early December.
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast made the statement as the new members of Parliament prepare for the formation of a new government.
Commissioner Prendergast says while RSIPF will continue high visibility presence in Honiara and Guadalcanal, his force is
optimistic to have continuous support from the community during the operation.
Mr Prendergast adds the force has already started bringing back police officers who were deployed to the provinces for the election into Honiara.
SIBC News understands Mr Prendergast, has thanked members of the public for their close cooperation with the police during the election period.
