A former USP lecturer from Isabel Province, Dr Culwick Togamana has won the Maringe Kokota constituency seat.

Dr Culwick ran as an independent during the elections and has unseated former MP, Varian Longamei, who had also contested as an independent.

The Governor General, Sir Frank Ofagioro Kabui, announced the win over national radio last night.

“I Sir Frank Ofagioro Kabui Governor General wish to inform you the public that the winning candidate for Maringe Kokota electoral constituency is Doctor Culwick Togamana, who polled a total of 1,594 votes.”
