SIFF COMMITTED TO SUPPORT SOLOMON GAMES 2016

In sports, the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) has said it is committed to assisting the Solomon Games Council in running football competitions should the games be shifted to Honiara.
A statement from the Games Secretariat said plans are to feature Futsal, Beach Soccer, and 11 a-side soccer tournaments during the games.
President William Lai said SIFF has been mandated to run the competitions in line with acceptable requirements and is looking forward to it.
He said the event intends to promote peace and unity besides sports, so SIFF is ready to throw in the necessary support.
Mr Lai encourage other national sporting federations to support the games.
The Solomon Games 2016 will be hosted in Rennell and Bellona from 2-16 July.
