Six officers from the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have been commissioned as Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) officers in a landmark overseas deployment.

Deputy Police Commissioner, Juanita Matanga confirms, the six officers will be deployed to Buka, Bougainville.

She says the officers will assist in disposing unexploded ordinances in the area.

“And these six officers will be travelling to Bougainville on Monday 6th October on a two months deployment program. This is an important program for the RSIPF because it’s the first of its kind in which we have to send EOD officers on an overseas mission.”
