Secretariat of the Pacific Community, SPC, is providing technical assistance to the Ministry of Agriculture to aid in their rehabilitation efforts as the repatriation of flood victims in Honiara.

More families have been given repatriation kits and food supplies to support them during the rehabilitation process.

A government statement says the Solomon Islands National Disaster Management Office, NDMO, has established an arrangement with families to return to clean up and replant their crops while continuing to receive food supplies from the Government and other humanitarian
agencies.

The SPC technical assistance has been handed over to his excellency Mr John Patteson Oti, Solomon Islands High Commission to Fiji last Friday.

In addition, SPC staff have held fund-raiser activities through their social club in aid of flood re-habilitation efforts.

SPC has a country office in Honiara which is keeping all informed of developments in post flooding relief efforts.
