A National Essay Competition for all secondary school students and teachers in the country was launched by the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development and the United Nations Development Programme, (UNDP’s) Electoral Cycle in the Solomon Islands Project (SECSIP).

A statement from the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission (SIEC) confirmed, entries for the competition are categorised into junior secondary students, senior secondary students, and teachers, who are expected to write on the topic: “Women’s Leadership and Political Participation.”

Winning essays will be awarded a laptop computer and will also be commended in a ceremony in Honiara.

All essay submissions are to be handed in by this Friday.
