An information stakeholders meeting on the Honiara Town Boundary was held yesterday in Honiara between the National Government and its stakeholders.

The one day meeting was to discuss issues surrounding the Honiara Town Boundary.

Speaking to SIBC News, Deputy Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office, John Stewart says the meeting is to work out steps to resolve the Honiara City Boundary.

He says the issue is very complex, adding consultations with stakeholders is an important process to identify the issues to tackle.

“The Honiara town boundary issue itself is very complex. There are issues where land owning groups wanted to put forward to the government for the past years. The issue surrounding the expansion of the town boundary, when this was done? Whether it was done through legal avenues or not? So we want to get from the land owning groups what the issues are, so that any government coming into power can be able to carefully look at them address them.”

The meeting was organised by the Prime Minister’s Office.
