Writers of the stories in Talemaot – Solomon stories of peace and conflict today donated 100 copies of the book to the Curriculum Development Division of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources.

The donation was for secondary students, and the writers were pleased to hear in future their stories can be used in the Solomon Islands curriculum.

Members of Solomon Islands Creative Writers Association, SICWA, discussed collaborating with CDD to encourage young Islanders to write and to share their stories with CDD for educational uses.

Talemaot is a collection of creative writing on the topical issues facing the country today by Solomon Islands writers and includes poems, short stories and short film scripts.

The book features creative writing by Chelcia Gomese, Regina Lepping, Georgianna Lepping, Fred Percy Maedola, Anthony Maelasi, Julian Maka’a, Christina Mitini, Jasmine Navala-Waleafea and Vinnie D. Nomae.
