TELEKOM KAKAMORA SOCCER LEAGUE OPENS
In sports, more than ten boys and girls soccer teams have participated in the Telekom Kakamora Soccer League (TKSl) opening this week.
The soccer league aims to help the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) organise provincial leagues to scout out raw talents.
President of the National Football Federation, Mr William Lai expressed his happiness to witness the commitment by the Makira Ulawa Football Association.
Salinda Taumakario reports, Makira Ulawa province had stopped organising events for the last four years.
Meanwhile, MUFA president Mr Tommy Mana highlighted the significance of the league saying Makira will rise again in terms of Football development.
The Kirakira Telekom Manager and the president of the Local Organising Committee Mrs Edith Hanuagi in her speech said previous Soccer league’s have ended successfully.
The opening coincided with the presentation of referee certificates and a donation of soccer balls from SIFF to the Schools around Kirakira.
