Tulagi hospital in Central Islands Province

Tulagi hospital in Central Islands Province finally has its own medical doctor after years of waiting and advocating for one.

She is Dr Lydia Ipulu who will leave for Tulagi tomorrow.

A statement by the Ngella Forum said Dr Ipulu from Temotu Province, recently completed her medical studies at the University of Papua New Guinea.

The forum thanked her for accepting the offer to serve at Tulagi Hospital.

The forum calls on the Tulagi Provincial Government, Central Medical Authority, nearby villagers and Tulagi residents to look after and support Dr Ipulu in her duty and during her stay in Tulagi.

For more than two years now, all admission patients at the hospital were looked after by the nurses.

The hospital also spent significant funds to transport patients to the National Referral Hospital in Honiara.
