The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) has laid two additional charges on re-captured fugitive Edmond Sae when his case appeared before a Magistrate last week.

Mr. Sae’s case was listed before the Magistrate Court, but due to security reasons, it was heard at the Rove Correctional Centre.

At the hearing, the DPP on top of his murder charge, laid two additional charges of purchasing, acquiring and possession of firearm and ammunition without a licence, contrary to Section Five of the Firearm and Ammunition Act.

Mr. Sae is accused of shooting the former Commissioner of Police Sir Fredrick Soaki on 10 February in 2003 at the Auki Motel in Malaita Province.

Sir Fredrick at the time was attending a workshop.

Investigations into the case continues.
