Prime Minister Hon Manasseh Sogavare says he is heartened to hear the continued support of the United Nations Peace Building Commission  (NPBC) with the Solomon Islands Government.

Speaking after returning to the Solomons yesterday, the Prime Minister said the NPBC praised the peace-building efforts in the country in light of the impending withdrawal of the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands.

The NPBC called on its partners to further support the collaborative effort to further stabilise the country.

Prime Minister Sogavare said the positive response was reflective of the commitment of the United Nations to see through a brighter future for Solomon Islands and its citizens.

The Prime Minister returned to Honiara yesterday after he was invited to the United Nations Peace Building Commission meeting in New York.
