UNRULY BEHAVIOUR WORRIES COMMUNITY ELDER
The unruly behaviour of certain youths at Maranari village along the Si’iua river in West Are’are, Malaita Province, has raised concerns for a community elder in the area.
Community Elder Matthew Keniaria raised the concern, saying drinking habits are increasing among the youths and their miss-behaviour is causing problems.
SIBC’s West Are’are stringer Gabriel Riotarau reports Mr. Keniaria is calling on the community leaders of Maranari to cooperate and address the issue.
“Mr. Keniaria said he observed that drinking habits among the youth are increasing, resulting not only in miss-behaviour but also destroying people’s properties like cutting down planted trees, which is not right. Mr. Keniaria calls on parents and community leaders of the community to address the issue together.”
