The visiting Member of Parliament for New South Wales Government Jonathan O’Dea has today handed over two cheques worth more than AUD$3,000 each for the National Referral Hospital and the Good Samaritan hospital in North Guadalcanal.

The assistance was presented on behalf of the New South Wales Parliament’s Asia Pacific Friendship group for Solomon Islands.

Speaking during the brief hand over, Member of Parliament for New Wales Government Jonathan O’Dea said the assistance is to be used for the deserving people being cared for in the two hospitals.

“One for the Good Samaritan Hospital and one for the National Referral Hospital and to be used for particularly the deserving people who look after and care for, in the same way, that we all as public officials try and care for people in a loving and caring way.”

Meanwhile, Chair of the Parliamentary Health Committee Honourable Charles Sigoto acknowledges the assistance from the Government and people of Australia.

“On behalf of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, in my capacity as a Chair for the Health and Medical standing committee in this Parliament, it is a great joy for me to receive this token of appreciation from you and your people.”
