The Solomon Islands Tourism Province Investable Sites Report shows government now has a portfolio of 60 registered land sites in Western Province that the ministry can now promote to potential investors each land parcel comes with own profile of information to help guide investors to the most suitable site for investment project,” Mr Parapolo said.

Mr Parapolo said the Solomon Islands Tourism Investor Guide is designed to help investors understand registered land leases and development in the country.

He added the Solomon Islands government is committed to developing the country’s tourism sector.

The efforts of the commitment were shown when the Ministry entered a memorandum of understanding with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for tourism investment support collaboration.”

The two papers are the result of the government’s commitment towards the tourism sector.

In 2017 and early 2018, IFC in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism conducted the Western Province Tourism Investment Needs Assessments which led to the two papers being created.

The Western Province Tourism Registered Land Survey conducted by the end of 2018 had a team of MCT experts and IFC specialists to identify land in Western provinces that are suitable for tourism development.

The Ministry plans to expand similar work into other provinces in the country.
