The Western Provincial Government plans to appropriate over $18 million to provide services to its people over the next 12 months.

Provincial Finance Minister, Lester Saomasi told the Western Provincial Assembly last Thursday, the provincial government intends to appropriate over $18 million this year.

“The Western provincial government Mr Speaker through its 2015-16 appropriation ordinance, intends to appropriate $18,779,689.00 over the next 12 months. Sir you will note that there is no new capital estimates compiled at this stage as the Democratic Coalition for Change Government is yet to approve in its budget for the 2015 fiscal year. These operational bounds to be addressed here are mostly recurrent and basically to ensure that normal services are delivered.”

He said new capital-related activities will be differed until June or July.

SIBC News understands the National Government is yet to finalise its national budget for 2015.
