Managing Director and World Bank Group Chief Financial Officer, Bertrand Badré has described as pleasant, his first official visit to the country.

The World Bank Chief Financial Officer said, his trip was to discuss how best the organization can support development progress in Solomon Islands.

Mr Badre said, he has been made aware that Solomon Islands looks to increase social and economic opportunities and secure sustainable economic growth.

He added, his visit was also a demonstration of the strong commitment of the World Bank Group to the Government of Solomon Islands for a number of significant projects.

These projects include the expansion of Soltuna Fishing Project at Noro, Tina Hydro among others.

The World Bank Chief Financial Officer was in the country last week.
